RE: Test Port and Real WWW Server on innopac system

The test port process runs on port 2080. If you have
unix level account access you can display the webpac
processes:

csulib.ctstateu.edu> ps -ef | grep webpac
root 111113 5064 0.3 Jun 04 ?? 10:10.85 webpac -I -m
root 111503 5064 0.0 Jun 04 ?? 0:02.98 webpac -I -m -fwwwopti
ons.rjp -p5850
root 111510 5064 0.0 Jun 04 ?? 0:06.35 webpac -I -p2080 -f/ii
idb/http/screens/wwwoptions.2080
root 111855 5064 0.0 Jun 04 ?? 0:03.02 webpac -I -z -p211
csulib.ctstateu.edu>

The webpac process with the -p2080 is the testpac.
You can then see the process id (111510) and use that to restart just
the test port webpac via restart a terminal. However without access to
a unix account I don't think you can determine which process is the
test pac. It would be a good enhancement request to add that information
to the restart screens.

Mary --

I am not sure if this answer is correct or not because we do not have a test port, but I thought that I would give it a whack anyway. It is my understanding that the number of times you see World Wide Web Server depends on what is setup by Innovative to handle the anticipated traffic to and from the box. So larger sites will have three simultaneous processes with smaller libraries having one process running. Typically, when I have to restart the World Wide Web Server, I go to restart a terminal, limit to "world" and restart all the processes that are showing. At the University of Toledo, I have seen typically 3 processes running, though on occasion I have seen 2 and sometimes 4. I typically will then restart all of them. (I have thought that you could restart one process and all would get a new PID (Process ID), but this is not the case. The only one with the new ID is the one that you restarted).

Having said all that and to hopefully answer your question, I believe that the real and test ports will all be restarted at the same time when you restart all of the World Wide Web Server Processes. They are not particularly dedicated to one port or another, but work with all WWW services for the public.

Hi Everyone,
Is there away to distinguish between the Test Port and Real WWW Server on
innopac system when you need to restart.
For example on my site, I could see:
     USER PID PORT PROCESS
11 > iii 5835 none World Wide Web Server
08 > iii 9620 none World Wide Web Server
09 > iii 6747 none World Wide Web Server

Thanks in Advance
