OK, thanks for checking on this. We do use the existing searches
frequently, but of course, there has to already be a search there for us
to use it, so it's not at all the same thing as saved searches, which
lets you save the criteria for a search without actually using one of
the review files. On the rare occasions when we use saved searches, we
don't normally use the saved searches tab either-- I only mentioned it
because I was trying to be thorough on what we were seeing on our system.
As for having people put their initials and date on each saved search,
we could do that, but this is one of those things that it's much better
to have the system do than to expect people to do accurately and
consistently, and it's hardly worth the effort since we can't sort the
list and can't take ownership of the saved searches, the way we can take
ownership of review files. It just seems like III needs to move all the
improvements they've made to the list of files, which we love, over to
the Saved Searches.
Again, thanks for asking about this and for checking on the answer.
It's hard going through all these enhancement requests, and it's easy to
misunderstand quite what an enhancement is for or why it's needed, so I
think getting this kind of clarification on the list is a good idea.
