We have it set up with Blackwell's that if there is a double slash and then
information in the Vendor Note, then they look at that information.
ex.: Vendor Note://isbn1234567890
If they have any questions then they email me.

We haven't been very successful in getting vendors use the ISBN from the
vendor note field for electronic orders.
One nice thing about the ISBN field in the order record is that it gives
you a dropdown list of the ISBNs in the bib record so you can choose the
one you want. What we'd like to see next is an option to have the
system always write the ISBN to the order record-- whether it was the
first or only one in the bib record, or one we've selected. Otherwise,
there's no way for us to really see which ISBN was sent to vendors as
bib records are edited or overlaid. And now that some of our ISBNs
will be in the order records, we think it would be cleaner for create
lists and other programs if we could work with them all in the same
field, in the same record type.
