- Subject: Bandwidth and proxy rewrite
Hello All,
I am curious if anyone has been able to quantify any changes in their
bandwidth utilization due to turning on proxy rewrite. We have a T-1 for
Internet traffic, supporting several buildings and access to the OPAC.
In addition we have nearly a dozen online resources available for home
use. At the moment, once a home user has been verified by our system,
they go off to the vendors' systems and do not present a drain on our
connection. Once proxy rewrite is on, that traffic will now stay on our
network. Before turning this on, I would like to be prepared for any
noticeable increase in traffic and make any necessary capacity
adjustments.
Thanks in advance for any comments.
