 Position Description                                                       
                                                                            
                                                                            
 This individual will be responsible for Amigos' on-site material           
 acquisitions and production coordination of the University of Houston's    
 O'Quinn Law Library collection recovery project. In June 2001, the         
 library's collection was largely destroyed in flooding spawned by Tropical 
 Storm Allison. Amigos was awarded the primary contract for the project,    
 utilizing subcontractors for selection, acquisition, cataloging, and       
 processing of materials.                                                   
                                                                            
                                                                            
 Position Responsibilities                                                  
                                                                            
                                                                            
 This individual will                                                       
       Assist Project Manager to develop and document procedures for        
       conducting the project.                                              
       Receive and process law library materials from subcontractors        
       following established procedures for receipt, inventory control,     
       quality control.                                                     
       Coordinate and supervise work conducted by Processing Specialists    
       and Warehouse Assistant.                                             
       Provide accurate acquisitions and bibliographic information to the   
       library.                                                             
       Maintain accurate statistics and ensure documentation meets          
       guidelines established by funding agencies.                          
       Ensure purchasing regulations are adhered to as established by       
       funding agencies and maintain documentation for audit trails.        
                                                                            
                                                                            
 Position Requirements                                                      
                                                                            
                                                                            
 Education                                                                  
       M.L.S. degree from an ALA-accredited library school is required.     
                                                                            
                                                                            
 Experience                                                                 
       Minimum four (4) years' experience in technical services, including  
       acquisitions and copy cataloging utilizing OCLC World Cat            
       Experience with local systems, preferably Innovative Interfaces      
       Experience with bibliographic database creation/maintenance          
                                                                            
                                                                            
 Skills                                                                     
       Thorough knowledge of OCLC cataloging module and Innovative          
       Interfaces or equivalent acquisitions system                         
       Knowledge of microcomputers and the Internet                         
       Demonstrated oral and written communications skills                  
       Strong supervisory, interpersonal and organizational skills

 Pay and Benefits                                                           
       Salary: $45,000 ? $55,000                                            
                                                                            
                                                                            
       Amigos provides an excellent benefit package for staff. The          
       employee's medical, dental, long-term care and 1X annual salary is   
       paid for by Amigos. Staff may purchase dependent coverage with       
       pre-tax deductions. Long-term Disability and Retirement are paid for 
       by Amigos and staff are eligible to participate after one year.      
       Cancer and Intensive Care policies are available as well as 125C     
       options for dependent care and medical reimbursement. Fifteen days
