IUG ListServ,
We are getting ready to implement Patron Image Photos in Millennium
Circulation and we need to decide whether to implement
a. 300-MPC (internal), where the images are stored on the Innopac Server,
additional disk space required, using Axis 200+ or Axis 2100 camera, or
b. 300-MPE (external), storing images on an external WebServer, JPEGs or GIFs.
We were wondering if anyone has an opinion as to which method seems to be
the better solution, and whether you are satisfied with the process.
My second question is whether any libraries are trying to simultaneously
capture the patron image for both Millennium Circulation AND a patron's
library card (card printing system which would include patron photo). One
photo for two purposes, or two photos done at the same time, one for
MilCirc and the other for the library card. Our libraries would like to do
photos at the same time for both MilCirc and the patron card. If anyone is
doing that, would you please be specific as to which vendor offers this
solution. Thanks.
