We are experiencing this also.
From my investigation, look closely at the part of the lengthy URL where the machine name "personalization.epnet.com" is. You'll note that immediately after the machine name and before the slash that there is a colon, but no port number. The WAM sees the colon and expects a port number, but doesn't find one. If you look closely at the error messages, the lack of a port number is referenced there (there's no number before the dash in the URL that the web browser claims is generating the 403 error). Verbatim, here's the relevant portion of the IE error message: "If you believe you should be able to view this directory or page, please try to contact the Web site by using any e-mail address or phone number that may be listed on the -personalization.epnet.com.lib.bus.umich.edu home page." I've worked with both III and EBSCO to resolve this matter since September to no avail. EZProxy has a patch to address this issue-why III has not taken that and incorporated it into the WAM product I don't know (easy for me to say, as I'm not the programmer). Shame on EBSCO for including what is not considered a valid URL format (according to the RFC) within its programming. Shame on III for not incorporating the fix that apparently is available. There's plenty of blame to go around.
I had hopes that Release 2002 Phase 2 would resolve the matter. These hopes were dashed.
If other sites have opened a call on this, I'd appreciate hearing from you privately to discuss what we might be able to do to link all of these calls together for a resolution that, in my instance, is already 4 months overdue.

Hello, We are experiencing the same problem described by Jane Miller in her email regarding Ebscohost Alerts and Web Access Management. Our WAM table contains every URL suggested by the EBSCO tech person plus a few of my own creations and nothing seems to work. Any advice on this topic would be much appreciated.
