We created a patron record for “Law Repair.” When books are removed from the stacks they are checked out to this “dummy” patron. This method has the advantage of not having to change anything in the item record, and the patron record can be checked without having to run a list. If items fall overdue a notice is generated & we can check up on the whereabouts of the book.
