I think the answer to your last question is yes. In our WAM table we
have 4 entries for CSA to allow for re-routing to mirror servers.

     *.csa1.co.uk
     *.csa.com
     *.csa2.com
     *.csa3.com

The first one is the UK server which is our default server, but you may
want to add the other three to your WAM table.

Go to the CSA homepage via your proxy server (using the rewrite method)
e.g.

     http://0-www.csa.com.unicat.bangor.ac.uk/

and click "Internet Database Service (IDS)" in the middle of the screen
(it doesn't look like a link but it is), then "Create a Login Link" under
Administration. Enter your IDS username and password. Select a target
database, e.g. AGRICOLA and click the "Create Script" button.

The URL that appears in the box is the URL that should work as the proxy
rewrite URL. Although your site's username and password are included in
the URL I was assured by a CSA rep that they were used in conjunction with
IP authentication. The URL for AGRICOLA generated by this method for our
site is:

<a href="http://0-www.csa.com.unicat.bangor.ac.uk:80/htbin/dbrng.cgi?
username=chest14&access=chest1495&cat=agricola">

Click the Preview Link to test that the URL works.
