- Subject: barcode scanners from UBI
Hello,
we have recently found a few laser barcode scanners, made by UBI (in
France?) in a box on a storage shelf, but no documentation. I am even
having a hard time locating a model number on them. They require a power
cord, are boxy and stand on a round platform that has five jacks on the
back, neither RJ11 nor RJ45 but something between those two, with the
following labels: 'Wedge keyb', 'wedge syst', 'power', 'user' and 'mag
stripe wand'.
I have hooked up some Symbol barcode scanners before, but none of these -
and there seem to be none of these type already in use in the library. A
Google search for the manufacturer did not seem to turn up much useful
information.
Is there anybody out there who can help me with some advice or could point
me to more information?
Or is this obsolete equipment that we'll have to throw away? (I don't think
they've ever been used before!)
