We were an early install of Phase 2, so I'll pass along my experience:
1. Despite what some have told us, the help desk said that JRE 1.3.1 is
NOT backwards compatible. We tested it in a test lab here and had
problems. My recommendation is that you do NOT upgrade the client until
you convert to phase 2.
2. We had the same problem here with one client (not launching
properly) and if we looked in the DOS window that opens for Millennium,
it said she was missing a file. We never did figure out which one, but
if you try to connect to Rel 2000 phase 2 with the old client, you get a
meesage that you need to upgrade and the software asks if you want to
upgrade now. That solved the problem for our user. It may work for you.
