We use a 2 week rotation, with the latest tape stored off-site.

Subject: MILLENNIUM: backups

Hi all,

Next month, our server from Innovative will arrive.  We're going with their turn-key system, using the newest version of Millennium.  We're a fairly small University library, with about 100,000 volumes, and about 5,000 patron records.  Consider this, about how many tapes would you recommend that we purchase for backup purposes.  I was considering 3-weeks worth, but I would like to hear from those of you who are currently using their system and running backups.  Do you have a written policy concerning your backup procedure?  Do you store any off-site?  Any information you can provide will be of great help!  Thanks and Happy Holidays!
