My campus is using Obvia instead of the rewrite proxy, however,
I have also come across this problem. What I've noticed is that
regardless of the ISP (AOL, Compuserve, MSN, etc), if the patron is
running Internet Explorer 6x, can enable cookies and Java scripting,
but still loop back to the authentication page, the address for Obvia
(or the Rewrite proxy) needs to be added into the browser options.
The addition of the address in the browser options has corrected
the access problems for us. Maybe this will also work with the
Rewrite proxy.

> We have this problem with AOL users. They invariably claim to be using a "non-AOL" browser, but the problem does seem to be limited to AOL users nevertheless. We have yet to determine the cause.
