Mark,
The search behavior varies depending on whether you have "old" keyword
or the advanced keyword product. Advanced keyword does not support the
"limit search" button used in non-keyword searches E.g.,
http://columbo.law.cua.edu/search/tlegality/tlegality/1,19,19,B/limit.
Moreover, in advanced keyword if your initial search is on the simple
keyword (Y) screen, "modify search" will always take you back to the y
screen. If you do the search on the X screen (advanced search), modify
search takes you to that screen, which typically includes the same
limits as your non-keyword "limit search" screen.
Coming in Phase 3, you will be able to control which screen (X or Y) the
modify search button defaults to. See the Rel. 2002 prelim.
enhancements list at p.17.
III views the pre-search limits on the advanced search page as taking
the place of post-search "limit search" page. From what I can tell,
they have no plans to support post-search limits for advanced keyword.
Nevertheless, this may be a good enhancement request, especially since
the post-search version of the publisher limit has far fewer problems
than the pre-search version.
Hope this makes sense ... or at least answers the question.

Subject: modifying keyword searches
I've been combing CSDirect and the archive for this and must now give in
and
post this question:
When I do a simple keyword search in our OPAC, and then click on "Modify
Search" I get taken directly back to the simple keyword search screen.
If
you want to see what I'm talking about go to:
http://uamlibrary.uamont.edu/search/Y?SEARCH=arkansas
Then click on the Modify Search Button
I'd like the "Modify" button to take you to the screen where you can set
yr.
of publication, language, publisher, item location, words in title, etc.
I've seen other WebOPac's set like this. I've stared at the WWWOptions
screen for at least 45 minutes and am stumped.
Thanks,
