Greg,

When we reindexed,  III wanted to include the 300 tag, which would have
led to a lot of false drops in searches (e.g. New York for publishers
when you want the city, etc.)  We had to go back and forth with them for
awhile to convince them that this was really something we didn't want.
Actually, indexing publishers did have its advocates, especially in
collection development, so the main thing is to know that a good issue
to be clear on before you reindex.
