Make sure the "Use Displayed Field"  box is unchecked.  I've found this to be the biggest source of errors when running global update.

Anybody who has a way out---any help is appreciated.

 

Our cataloger was doing her regular e-books upload. For some unknown reason (perhaps a finger that lingered too long on a key) the regular 856 link using a subfield such as "|uhttp://hostname...." was typed as "||uhttp://hostname". [noticed the second pipe before uhttp]. We thought this could easily be remedied by the global update in Milcat such as find any occurence of "||uhttp...." and replace by "|uhttp:...." but milcat is returning a report of no change when "previewed".

 

Anything we are not doing right? Any ideas appreciated.
