Kristin,
We are using contention groups to control our user licenses. We have
three public libraries and a regional library in a consortium and we all
bought different numbers
of licenses. Our library only divided our licenses into public and staff.
The other libraries wanted tighter control because they do not have many
licenses. They divide their licenses by staff and public and by branch.
You associate different logins with different contention groups. You can
easily change the breakdowns as needed and can monitor the use of licenses
in the management section under "login statistics." This gives you a
snapshot of usage at different times during the day.
We aren't supposed to give specific instructions on this list, but if you
need help, you can write to me directly.
