We just started implementing the e-mail notification this past week. During
the month prior to implementation we added a color slip to all the notices
we mailed to our users announcing the new service. In addition on our web
page News we added an announcement including the same language as that of
the color slip: http://www.library.miami.edu/circ_update.html
We announced the services in all our external newsletters and internal
(library) newsletters as well. I hope this helps. Good luck with the
implementation.

Subject: E-mail notification publicity

Our Library is in the process of implemeneting the e-mail notification
option for overdues, holds, etc. We're trying to think of ways to get the
word out to patrons ahead of time. I would appreciate it if libraries who
have already implemented e-mail notification could give us some ideas on
what worked (or didn't work) in publicizing this new feature to your
patrons.

Thank you,
