Robert:
Here at William Woods, we use a Metrologic Instruments MS951 scanner, for both Circ and Tech services functions. No complaints.

Hello Robert Downs,
You will want a barcode scanner with 2 modes (triggerless or not), hands
free stand for quick scanning.
While migrating from GEAC to Millennium, I used Metrologic barcode
scanners. Metrologic Voyager (part # MEMK952032B47 for example) is the
newer model. They are good for stationary usage. They have an internal
moving part subject to separation but I did not have a problem using them
since 2000.
For usage with portable computers, I use HHP 3800. I use USB ports and
they come with 5 year warranty. If you wish, call Kevin Brown at 1-800-888-2239
because he provides a good price and fast services. I hope this will help
you.
Regards,
Bruno Rabarison
