Acq--Order--Volumes Fixed Field

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
We are new III users (MilAcq) since July 2002. I have a question about
the "Volumes" fixed field in order records. The manual says this field
is: "The number of volumes for this title. INNOPAC [I'm assuming the
same for MilAcq] uses the value in this field when creating Statistical
Reports. Default value is: 1."

I was thinking that when we order a multivolume set, the number in the
volumes field would equal the number of volumes we are ordering. But is
this also used as a unit count? If we order 2 copies of a title, should
we indicate 2 in the volumes field? Or does the Copies field also
calculate into statistical reports?

This question came up as we were ordering vol.1 part 1 and vol. 1 part 2
of a title. The more we discussed it, the more confused we got.

How are others interpreting, and using, the Volumes field in order
records?

Thanks.
