RE: IE online manual solution

[Date Prev][Date Next][Thread Prev][Thread Next][Date Index][Thread Index]
Hi!

The bad news is that this solution does not work for those of us running
Windows XP. According to information our IS department gleaned from the
Microsoft or Sun site, as of July 2002 the Java virtual machine isn't
available for Windows XP. So since I'm running XP, I do not have ANY Java
options available with IE (I checked under Tools as Michael described
below). Apparently Microsoft and Sun are in some kind of lawsuit. So it
will be made available EVENTUALLY via a CD (that I guess you have to buy).
I have a call open to III but don't know what they can do about something as
weird as this!

Subject:	IE online manual solution

Hi
This is a follow up to the list discussion at
http://innovativeusers.org/list/archives/2002/msg02867.html

I was having big problems using the on-line manual with IE6 and Netscape
6.2. As has been reported before the TOC would never load. I fixed it in IE6
by (thanks to John Rutherford) by going to Tools|Internet Options|Advanced
Tab and unclicking the Use Java 2 v1.3.1 option and making sure the
Microsoft VM options: Java Console Enabled and JIT complier were clicked.
When I made this change Manual in IE6 worked fine. Still haven't worked out
Netscape.
We are running R2002 phase 1.
