We put up a big hokin' "AOL USERS CLICK HERE FOR ADDITONAL INSTRUCTIONS" with links to how-to-download-netscape on our pverify_whatever39012.html page and have noticed a huge drop in AOL-trouble, or calls about the proxy service at all. Caleb T-R Golden Gate University >>> Rutherford@xxxxxxxxxx 07/18/02 12:23PM >>> I have found that AOL users that have problems in EVERY case I have actually talked with the patron about, it has turned out that they were attempting to use the AOL browser. I think the difference with the proxy rewrite method is that it seems to work partially now, or at least will display the authentication page. Before, nothing happened so they were forced to use another browser. Perhaps there are other issues, but so far, with about 5 AOL users that I have been able to talk to since we enabled the rewrite mode, its always been the case that they were using the AOL browser or they were using Netscape 6, and still had the proxy.pac address set. They all have AOL. Does the new method also fail to work with AOL as did the older proxy method? Or should I look for some other problem? Thanks for your help.
