RE: Word Search Results

Tyra --

Upon playing with this a bit this morning, I found that the display of
the records found by the keyword searching in Milcirc are based upon the
following System Option:

37 > Alta-Vista Searching: Ranking
Options.................................RAD (user manual Page # 101916)

When I did a search on baseball, I noticed that there was no clear
order, but the books that I recently ordered were on the top of the
list. I changed this option to ADR and it sorted Alphabetically (by
titlekey). Presumably, this should work the same at your system, though
this does not appear to be documented in either the manual or on
csdirect. (I just was not able to find it).

Hope this helps.

Subject: Word Search Results

Can anyone tell me, please, what the standard order for keyword search
results is in Millennium Circ, Search/Holds? I have asked the help desk
two months ago, and haven't received an answer.

I was assuming the order would be word in the title coming first, etc.,
but it doesn't seem to be that way. The results appear to be random.
Entries of the same title aren't even together in the list. It's all
very confusing and quite difficult to find materials.

Thank you,
Tyra
