Carol Gyger of Fort Collins Public Library gave me the directions for making a review file

of bib records lacking a specific note.

After you enter the search criteria for the kind of bib records you need,

then enter the MARC tag number of the note field. Then key "enter" and the letter "x"

You can then choose

1> All fields do not have

2> At least one field does not have

Example:

!500<enter>x  (this means tag 500 does not have)

compact disc

1 > All fields do not have.

Subject: Create lists question - finding bib records without a "Compact di sc" note

Is there a way to create a list of bibliographic records that do not contain a specific note in a 500 field?

I would like to create a file of our CD's that do not have note field for "Compact disc."

I can run a list of all of our compact discs, and I can run a list of all our compact discs that don't have

a "Compact disc" note, but I can't figure out how to run a list of our CD's lacking that note field.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.
