Macalester College started using the Millenium ILL module last
January. As to the pretransition worksheets that I can remember filling
out, most of the information on them related to webforms. I remember
making decisions on what types of materials we wanted to have forms for;
e.g. book, article, book chapter, etc. We also made decisions on what
information we asked patrons to put on the forms. We are part of a
consortium with about 10 other libraries so there was some difficulty in
making the forms work for all the libraries as we were going to be sharing
forms.

There was also difficulty caused by how we were limited in our
ability to tweek the forms to what we wanted. There are a limited number
of fields that you can use on a Innovative form so we had to do some
picking and choosing of what information was most important. We also
changed the names of some of the fields which I remember being difficult to
do, but now I forget why. Feel free to take a look at our forms. Our
article request form is at http://clicnet.clic.edu/illj and our book form
is at http://clicnet.clic.edu/illb.

The only interaction with the OCLC Ill system is that Millenium can
send requests from the ILL module into OCLC. Millenium has the options to
send directly to the review file, directly to a profile, or directly to a
lender. However, we only use the direct to Review file option so I can
only speak to the functionality of this feature, and it does work. Also,
one has to be careful about having information that was submitted via the
forms into the ILL module match up with fields in an OCLC request. All
updating of a request after it is sent to OCLC has to be done in both OCLC
and Millenium, there is no more communication between the two.

You also asked about using CLIO along with Millenium. Millenium
only handles the borrowing side of the ILL operation, so we use CLIO to
track all of our lending requests. Also, if you have borrowing request
come in from any source other than the webform and you do not key them into
Millenium then it is necessary to track them in a a manner other than with
Millenium. For example, we still use CLIO to track requests that come to
us from Firstsearch.

As the ILL module is rather new there are several bugs and features
still being worked out. We have experienced many problems of the module
not working as it should and these have been the greatest challenge of
using the module. When it does work properly I feel that our service to
our patrons has greatly improved.
