RE: Printing Sudoc labels

We use the documents processing software, DocAssist, to print our labels.
After downloading the depository shipping lists, the Process function in
DocAssist creates a text file of SuDoc numbers for the items we select. We
use the Mail Merge function of Microsoft Word to create the labels and then
print to 8 1/2 x 11 sheets on a laser printer.

Standard Avery (or other type) labels can be used but we find the archival
quality labels offered by University Products to be the most durable.

DocAssist is free and is available at: http://www.nthbit.com/

Subject: Printing Sudoc labels

Hello,

This is a quick question - our Acquisitions staff (serials receiving) is
looking for a way to print out SUDOC number labels on items they are
checking in. The only way I see this possible is to set up a pocket
label to print out the CALL #, and volume and issue information from
the bib record. However, this does not print out the SUDOC number in
standard format. An example would be something like:

HE 20.7915: V.12/No.1

Has anyone out there found a way to deal with this that won't more work
than just handwriting the SUDOC on an Avery label?

Thank you,

Raymond Camero
