I want to provide additional info that I should have included in my original
post:
We do have the correct/current version of the Millennium Client/JAVA Runtime
Environment as given on the CSDirect page. We are on Software release
version 2001 Update A (release date April 2002) so we are using the
"milup130.exe" as provided for on the CSDirect software page. We are using
Millennium Cataloging version 1.10
Our Gateway PCs are Pentium III, 800 MHz, 128 MB RAM, and are running
Windows 2000 Professional SP1.
Our Dell PCs are Pentium 4, 1.7 GHz, 256 MB RAM, and are running Windows
2000 Professional SP2.
The problem of MilCat "freezing" while updating the records occurs on both
types of PCs even with no other applications running.
I also want to clarify that the PCs themselves are not freezing, just
Millennium Cataloging, specifically, the "Quick Edit" function.
As I mentioned, we can change to another MilCat function such as "Delete
Items" and that will work. Then when we go back to "Quick Edit" we can do
another few items before "Quick Edit" stops taking barcodes again.
Thanks to all who have responded so far, any other ideas?
Bob

"freeze."
