LIBRARY SYSTEM TRAINER ACCESS
PENNSYLVANIA Position
Description Under the
direction of the Associate Director, this full-time position trains library
staff in the operation of an
Innovative Interfaces Millennium integrated library system. This person will conduct the training
for the ACCESS PENNSYLVANIA Millennium system for libraries throughout the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. The
position requires travel to participating library sites and will perform most
work as a telecommuting employee.
This is a permanent appointment dependent upon funding by the
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. Position
Qualifications ALA-accredited
MLS. Three years of library
automation experience, primarily in a training capacity. Experience with the Innovative
Interfaces library system, including training and user support preferred. Excellent speaking, organizational, and
self-starting skills. Ability to
deal effectively and efficiently with a variety of system
users. Position
Responsibilities Schedules
training and travels to libraries to conduct training sessions for libraries
installing the ACCESS PENNSYLVANIA Innovative Interfaces Millennium integrated
library system. Coordinates
initial startup and ongoing training support in all modules of the Millennium
system. Assists with
implementation of local site
preparation and local equipment procurement. Works with
technical and public services staff to develop internal workflows and
procedures. Trains
library staff members in the use of the Innovative Interfaces Millennium system
technical and public services functions. Deals with
Innovative Interfaces support personnel on public and technical services
issues. Coordinates
development of locally produced
training manuals and documentation. Works with
web designer to develop online tutorials and training materials Acts as a
resource for Innovative Interfaces Millennium system questions in technical and
public services areas. Attends
Innovative Interfaces update training sessions. Other duties
as assigned. Position
will be available as of July 1, 2002.
