- Subject: Welcome to Houston
We (HAIUG) are looking forward to welcoming everyone to Houston
this weekend!
We''ve posted lots of information on the Houston Area Innovative
User Group local arrangements page at:
http://librus.hccs.cc.tx.us/screens/iuglocal.html
Some of the links aren't working (to Coach and Graylines)
but I'll keep watching those sites and add the new URLs when
available. We''ve tried to include lots of information for you, but
don't hesitate to post, email, or phone questions and we'll answer
to the best of our ability.
We'll have local information available at a Local Arrangements
table at the conference, with lots of lists of places to go and eat
and ways to get there. We've included Jack's recommendations
on the website, also.
The weather here has been warm -- 80's during the day, but we
keep the buildings nice and chilly inside. We have slight chances
of rain for the next week or so according to some but not all
meteorologists in town, and the heat (70s - 80s) will continue. We
dress for warm weather and have light sweaters/jackets and umbrellas
handy this time of year. If you are staying at the conference hotel you
can probably avoid the weather altogether if you wish. :)
The usual safety rules apply here as in any large city. The Galleria
area is very nice, but do be cautious, especially when you are
alone, and be very careful crossing streets.
Happy travels,
Angela
