More than likely its the version of netscape. I had a user that had a slightly older version that did not connect properly.
Your user needs the newer proxy engine from netscape 4.77 or 4.78.

I have a patron using Netscape 4, a rural internet provider and her operating system is windows 98. When she enters the URL in the automatic proxy setting she gets an invalid URL in the automatic proxy. I have verified the url with her several times, she has set it up several times. I guess my question is this: does anyone know what causes this error and how to fix it?
