- Subject: Re: Inter-Library Loan Module
Clarence,
We went live with the Millenium ILL module about three weeks ago.
Overall I have a positive reaction to the product. Our rate of processing
requests has greatly increased because of the requests going directly into
Millenium from the forms, allowing us to work on requests from all stations
that have Millenium loaded immediately after a request has been submitted.
I also quite like the ability to email patrons from their requests in
Millenium, so if you receive an item or cancel a request you can easily let
the patron know of the status.
On the down side there are many bugs. Patron records and requests
freezing. Losing the ability to type in information in certain fields -
restarting Millenium being the only known solution. And numerous other
smaller bugs. It's not a bad product, but it still requires lots of
patience to use.
Though the bottom line could be: We are averaging about the same
number of requests, around 30-40 per day, as last semester, pre-Millenium,
and our rate of service, I feel, has tremendously increased.
