Hello -

Has anyone been able to assign a generic web user (i.e., not coming from a known IP address or IP address range) to a specific login name without user authorization?  I'd like to do this in our multi-library (but not a consortium) Millenium system for two reasons:  1) After I send the user to a scoped opacmenu.html, I can use LOCKSCOPE to prevent that user from ever seeing other libraries' holdings, and 2) I can get search statistics based on login name.  Innovative says that either a specific IP address/address range or login/password authentication is required to assign a login name, and that there is no way to pass a login name and password to the OPAC through an URL variable.  I welcome your suggestions.

Thanks for your help.
