- Subject: Position available - Database Maintenance Librarian
The Library, Research and Information Technology Center at Nova
Southeastern University, Fort Lauderdale, FL, invites applications for
the position of Database Maintenance Librarian. Reporting to the
Assistant University Librarian for Technical Services, the Database
Maintenance Librarian's primary purpose is to ensure the integrity of
the University Libraries' Innovative Interfaces online catalog, Novacat.
Incumbent will work with staff of all NSU libraries to coordinate,
monitor and document database maintenance procedures, including
batchloading of bibliographic and authority records. The Database
Maintenance Librarian will also work with the University Libraries'
systems staff to monitor and update Web links in Novacat. Additionally,
incumbent will coordinate the University Libraries' use of OCLC, and
will train and supervise students or staff assigned to database
maintenance activities.
Required qualifications: MLS degree from an ALA-accredited school.
Three years of recent professional experience with cataloging and
database maintenance in an integrated library system. Supervisory
experience. Preferred qualifications: Recent experience with: OCLC;
Innovative Interfaces; outsourcing of authority control, cataloging
and/or processing; academic libraries.
Salary and benefits: Salary commensurate with experience. Benefits
