ELECTRONIC RESOURCES LIBRARIAN. 

Xavier University, Cincinnati, Ohio. Xavier University Libraries invites applicants for the new position of Electronic Resources Librarian. 

This position provides the opportunity for programmatic leadership as well as participation with a team of ten librarians in providing general public service activities, including reference assistance (some night and weekend hours), education programs, and a collaborative liaison role with one or more academic disciplines. Collaborative library program development and participation in a variety of academic initiatives are the norm. Electronic Resources Librarian: This position complements a team of Bibliographic Control services librarians by taking a lead role in electronic resources services and development. Responsibilities include e-resource evaluation, cataloging, and delivery through a dynamic opac and Web site. 

Requirements: ALA-accredited MLS; two years of cataloging experience and knowledge of OCLC-MARC formats, AACR2R, and at least one standard subject heading scheme and one classification scheme; experience using at least one library utility and local library system; an understanding of electronic library standards (LC, ALA, OCLO, etc.); an understanding of collection development processes; proficiency with text and image-based information retrieval systems; public service and library instruction experience in an academic setting; and familiarity with Web-based information design and delivery. Experience with technology associated with development and implementation of digital library projects is a plus. Subject specialization in business preferred.
