Just Do It! - 2nd Call for Nominations

Fred Gertler did it, so did Diana Davis. Linda Bills enjoyed it so much 
she did it twice! What did these fine folks do, you ask? They were all 
Chairs of the IUG.

If you are interested in serving on the IUG Steering
Committee for the 2002-2003 season, nominations will be accepted
through January 30. This year we are looking for a secretary, 2 members 
at large, and that all-important position of vice chair/chair elect.

What type of person is needed for the Steering Committee? One who has a
desire to see that our highly successful organization keeps serving the
needs of the membership by working with Innovative staff and the member
libraries.

Do you have to work at a big library to serve? No! Steering Committee
members come from all types and sizes of libraries. That is how we are
able to represent all of our 800+ members.

What are my obligations if elected? As a member of the Steering
Committee, much of your work will be accomplished through e-mail and an
occasional teleconference. You will be required to attend 3 meetings per
year - ALA annual, ALA Midwinter, and the annual IUG conference. The IUG
has hired the services of an excellent conference planner who handles
all the logistical aspects of the annual conference so that Steering
Committee members can better plan programs and develop IUG services.

positions, please contact me directly.  If you have any questions about
the duties or responsibilities of any of the positions, don't hesitate
