Diane -- We are going up on Milill right now and I think it is
excellent. But I too find it strange that it prints out the request
when you are looking at the patron record. I am not sure if it is
supposed to do that or if it is a bug. But from every angle that I
tried, I was not able to get it to print. Sounds like a call in the
making!

But here is a possible work around that I played with earlier today.
Lets say that you have a record up and you decided that the (very
timely) book "Who are these idiots that did not vote for Gary Carter
today in the Baseball Hall of Fame balloting" is essential for the
library. While you can cancel the ILL Request, you cannot print the
patron record to attach it to the order form.

However, if you click on the NOTIFY button, you can print up a notice
(using an illmsg notice text) that could then suffice as a patron record
printout. The notice text is very easy to edit as you type in changes
or additions to the illmsg notice text and it is included in the
printout. You could add to the patron information that would
automatically print out (name and address). You could copy and paste
the ID or barcode number from the patron record. The notice would
already include the bibliographic information from the request. You
could even create a new illmsg (illmsg-patron hold) that is used
primarily for this opportunity.

While this represents a workaround, it may not be a bad idea for record
keeping.

Subject: Millennium Interlibrary Loan

Is anyone out there using Millennium ILL successfully?

Is it possible to print the patron record information when you are in
the new requests mode of Millennium ILL? Often patrons will request
interlibrary loan for a title that the Library is going to purchase. In
this case, I would want to cancel the ILL request and print the patron
information to attach to the order for the title. This way, I can make
sure that the patron request can be entered as a reserve once the item
is ordered.

When I attempted to print out the patron information this morning, I
kept getting the bibliographic information of the requested title. In
other words, even though the patron record was displayed on the screen -
the printer gave me the previous screen.

The online manual discusses viewing a patron record from an ILL request
- but it does not mention printing.
