- Subject: MilSerials printing
Sorry to open the whole printing can of worms so close to the holidays but...
Is anyone printing labels, binding and pull slips all from the same
MiSerials session? Here's our basic setup: LPT1 - dot matrix printer (e.g.,
Okidata 320), LPT2-laser printer. The only way I can get labels to print
correctly to the dot matrix is to have Direct Text Printing (DTP) enabled.
However, with DTP on, both binding and pull slips print to the dot matrix
regardless of what is chosen in MiSerials' all-too-numerous printer
selection windows. It seems as if the label printer with DTP on is
hardcoded to select LPT1. I can't fathom why binding and pull slips would
be printed to the label printer in the first place (this in itself seems
like an error) but that's the way the software appears to work. Has anyone
come up with any solutions? It's too much an interruption of our workflow
to have to run separate sessions with different printer settings and I'm
not sure I want to give everyone access to Manager-controlled settings.
Thanks &
Happy Holidays, Brian
