- Subject: RE: Featured lists and suppressed bib records
Unfortunately, featured lists do NOT behave just like regular OPAC records. I just noticed this here ... we use a featured list for our periodicals list and the "latest received" link that would display the checkin record is not present. I ask Innovative and was told that featured lists doesn't include the full functionality of the OPAC. We've also noticed the problems with suppressed records displaying to the public. I think not displaying suppressed records would be really, really obvious, but then again ... I still try to use logic here at GAO.

Hello Gail,
I can't explain it but have noticed the same thing. I also thought that
suppressed records should not display in featured lists. After all, the
lists show for OPAC patrons so they should, I figure, behave as does the
OPAC. I have a "<>n" for the appropriate BCODE to weed them out in the
search for use in our featured list.

I just noticed in our Featured List of new books that ECR articles are
displaying in the list even though the records are suppressed.
Can anyone explain this? Does our search strategy for creating new book
lists have to exclude BCODE3=n? Shouldn't they just not show up?
