To maintain ytd/lyr stats, I used to create multiple
review files using the strategy: ytd>0 or lyr>0.
Records with 0 values were thus eliminated. (Since
the process was very slow, the fewer records to be
updated, the better.)

It's my understanding that the process is much improved.
However, the manual still recommends using review files
(See #101386). I'd really like to be able to use .i range
(first item through last item). Does anyone know if using
the item range *instead* of review files causes any problems?

Thanks for your help.
