Head Cataloger - St. Anselm College - N.H.

Geisel Library at Saint Anselm College continues to seek an energetic
Librarian for the position of Head Cataloger.  This new position reflects an
increased need for online bibliographic control of both traditional and
electronic resources and reports to the Head of Technical Services.  

Responsibilities:  Manage standardized original and copy cataloging in all
formats ; provide ongoing guidance to cataloging staff and help manage
cataloging policy manual ; lead staff in the use of developing standards and
tools, including CORC services ; promote efficient and accurate cataloging
while helping to achieve cataloging goals and objectives.  Perform other
duties as needed.

Qualifications:  ALA-accredited M.L.S. or equivalent.  Advanced knowledge of
and experience w/ AACR2r, USMARC, OCLC, LCSH and LCCS, and standard database
authority control procedures is required.  Also requires:  the ability to
solve cataloging problems, strong computing skills and the ability to
implement new cataloging standards and procedures.  Supervisory experience
in cataloging and the ability to succeed autonomously preferred.

Benefits:  Salary of $31,500. (35 hrs./wk.)  Opportunities for supervisory
