ISBN overlay

We have been having a little problem with our Baker & Taylor Order records
not Attaching to existing Bibliographic records and creating a new bib
record instead. In looking at them, it seems to occur when the qualifiers
(ie (pbk.), (hardcover) etc.) after the ISBNs are different. For example:

0802787185 (hardcover)
0802787185 : HRD

If this is the case, is there any way to setup the load table and overlay so
that it will ignore any qualifiers and match on just the ISBN alone? TIA for
any information.
