We are a small public library system using the
character based INNOPAC product. This past week we began to experience
problems loading records from both OCLC (through PRISM) and BiblioFile records
on cd. basically, the system stops after 2176 bytes have been
loaded. The following error message displays:
Problems with reading records from PC.
failed to get file with XModem.
We have been transferring files this way for
five years with no problem. ( Until last Saturday) III says they
don't support XModem any more (this was the first I've heard of it) and that we
should now buy a Web based product. That's fine, but it will take time,
and we need to load our records. Obviously, I'm not an IT person, nor do
we have an IT department. Just a couple of librarians who have learned
either way too much or not enough about the technology. Any help would be
greatly appreciated.
