Anne, and others,

In MilCirc, Release 2001, if you are passworded to view serials
records, under Search/Holds, run your search, for example, a title
search. The display that will come up is the hold display of item
records. Then, switch to view the checkin record. When the
checkin record appears, click on the record tab, and you will see
the notes in the checkin record.

We are close to installing MilCirc, MilAcq, and MilSer. We've been trained
on all of them and are just waiting for the new computers to be set up and
installed in the next few weeks before we switch over. Nothing like jumping
in all at once!

Our circ people have asked me how they will be able to see notes in the
Serials records (which we use extensively) when they're in MilCirc, since
when they had their training, at least, they could only view item and patron
records, not check or order records. From Acq and Ser we were able to see
all attached records, but I didn't get to Circ training so I don't know what
was said.

How does this work for those of you currently using MilCirc? How can your
circ people view this type of information? Is it a matter of keeping a
telnet port open to access "just in case" or is there some other way I don't
know about?

Inquiring minds want to know! Thanks in advance for your help.

Anne
