Augsburg College, located in the heart of the twin cities of Minneapolis and St. Paul, Minnesota, seeks an energetic, creative person to coordinate Technical Services and serve as Systems Librarian in our beautiful, new Lindell Library. Responsibilities include coordinating cataloging, acquisitions, and serials functions; setting policies for these functions; planning initiatives; annually summarizing activities; and supervising 3 paraprofessionals. Individual will also participate in Cooperating Libraries in Consortium (CLIC) activities; work with CLIC and Augsburg IT to maintain and supervise library’s integrated library system (Innovative Interfaces, Inc) and access to online databases; and participate in direct reference service.
Required qualifications include ALA/MLS or equivalent; professional academic library experience; supervisory experience; knowledge/expertise in technical services functions; knowledge of integrated library systems, online databases, reporting tools and web page creation; excellent interpersonal skills including verbal/written communication skills and ability to relate well to faculty/staff/students with diverse backgrounds; strong service orientation; aptitude for thriving in a rapidly changing environment. A second master’s degree and two or more years academic library supervisory experience preferred.
Salary will be determined based on experience and qualifications. The hiring range begins in the low $40’s.
