Just as there are three ways to receive an order there are three ways (at
least!) to control the display of order information in the OPAC. They are
explained in the user manual #3185 for telnet OPAC and #16769 (SHOWOREC)
for WebOPAC. In addition you can use the Time to reshelve option (user
manual #33651) to control the display of the "Just Arrived" message.

Even if you are only offering WebOPAC to your patrons I suggest you read
the section of the manual for telnet OPAC (especially #3206) since you
will find more detailed explanation of different options in this section.

You can create an item when you receive an order or when you catalog the
received item. The choice is up to you, but remember that once you create
an item it will display in the OPAC (unless you suppress it). Which
option you use to control the display of order information should be
determined by your workflow, i.e. when you create an item record for a
received order. Normally you would create one item record for each
physical item in the library. If an order is for multiple copies you
would create as many item records as there are copies.

Hope this is helpful.
