- Subject: Re: MillCirc--how long to learn to use?
Some of our long-time staff have had some resistance to using MillCirc,
while others have taken to it like ducks to water. Actually using
Millenium Circulation is very easy, and the interface is quite
intuitive. It makes most of the basic circ processes (checkin, checkout,
issuing cards, fines, etc.) very easy. Most people I've talked to don't
have any problem actually learning to use MillCirc, and I don't think any
training from Innovative is really required.
However, as some people have implied, there are certain tasks that cannot
be done via the graphical interface in Millenium. For those functions you
still need to telnet in using the character-based interface. This has been
the main reason given for staff resistance to MillCirc by those people who
prefer the character interface.
