We are beginning to participate in OCLC's CORC cataloging
program. We have made the following assumptions based on
our reading and observations. We would appreciate any
information you can provide on whether these assumptions are
accurate.
Assumption #1 - CORC records must be downloaded to a
computer via a browser, transferred to a server (or the
computer must be running server software), and then loaded
into INNOPAC through a load program. There is no direct way
to download the records from the CORC program into INNOPAC.
(Note: We do know that CORC records are transferred to
WorldCat and can be exported via OCLC's Passport software,
but we are looking for an easy way to immediately get
originally catalogued records into INNOPAC.)
Assumption #2 - CORC records must be created or downloaded
in MARC format in order to be compatible with INNOPAC. The
Dublin Core standard is not recognized by INNOPAC and can
not be loaded directly into INNOPAC.
Question - Does anyone know whether Innovative will ever be
able to accept Dublin Core records?
