AURARIA LIBRARY
REFERENCE LIBRARIAN
(Half-time, Temporary Assignment)
The Auraria Library is seeking a half-time Reference Librarian. This is a
temporary position of 20 hours. At a minimum, this position may be
scheduled for Reference Desk duty one weekend day and one night shift per
week. Responsibilities include service at the Reference Desk to students,
faculty, staff and the general public. It requires experience in the use of
online, print, CD-ROM and Internet resources across the entire spectrum of
knowledge, including business, the sciences, social sciences, humanities,
law and other general sources of information.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS: ALA-accredited MLS degree or its foreign
equivalent. At least one year experience at a general reference desk.
Knowledge of online services and the Internet is essential.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Knowledge of Innovative Interfaces, Inc. (III)
system is desirable. Some background in business references is desired.
Excellent oral communication skills.
SALARY AND BENEFITS: This part-time faculty appointment offers a salary of
$16,200.00 on a fiscal year basis. Benefits include vacation, sick leave,
group health insurance, and TIAA/CREF or alternative retirement plan.
