Ovid catalog holdings and URLs in multiple holdings statements

Hi,

Some may consider this a little off topic - I'm sorry.  The bibliographic records in our Innopac for journals available to our patrons both in paper and electronically contain some rather involved 949 holdings statements which with more frequency contain a URL.  Such as:

(Three different 949s)
Available electronically to faculty, staff and students of The Claremont Colleges, v.1(1976)-17(1994) on the World Wide Web at http://www.jstor.org/journals/01612492.html
Available electronically to faculty, staff and students of The Claremont Colleges, v.18(1995)-  on the World Wide Web at http://muse.jhu.edu/journals/callaloo/
Honnold Periodicals have v.6#3(1983), v.7#1(1984)-7#3(1984), v.8#2(1985)-8#3(1985), v.9(1986)-21(1998)

Using our Innopac's Z39.50 Server we display these holdings in Ovid in a field labeled "catalog holdings."  The Ovid configuration file for this feature asks for the marc tag of the field to display and we've said "949"  The problem is that as far as I can tell there either isn't an end of field character for these 949 lines in our Innopac or the character that is there isn't recognized by Ovid.  So the URLs "bleed" over into the next line and don't work.  Example - the first link is erroneously "http://www.jstor.org/journals/01612492.htmlAvailable" and the second is "http://muse.jhu.edu/journals/callaloo/Honnold"

Our Ovid system administrator has been getting very little help from Ovid on this problem and a plea to the Ovid user listserv came back unanswered.  Are we the only Innovative site using Z39.50 to link to holdings that contain multiple holdings statements that contain URLs?

Interestingly enough, if one puts a space at the end of each 949 field the problem goes away.  And I'm thinking that if we incorporated all this into one 949 the problem would go away also.

Aside from completely changing the way we do things here does anyone have any thoughts?

Thanks for the help,
Candace
