- Subject: bylaws amendment in mail
As I mentioned earlier this week, a mailing will soon be arriving on the
doorsteps of IUG contact persons. One of the items included is a ballot
for an amendment to the IUG Bylaws (posted at
http://www.rodmanlibrary.com/iug/bylaws.htm)
The complete text of the existing bylaws may be found at
http://innopacusers.org/about/bylaws.html
Here is the proposal and rationale:
========
Reason for the amendment:
The proposed amendment to the Bylaws involves the addition of an
Affiliate Member category. Affiliate Membership will only be offered to
invited vendors attending the annual conference. Affiliate Members will
have no voting privileges, no ability to hold office, and will not
receive any membership mailings.
The current tax laws limit the amount of income that we can accept
from non-members. This new category will allow us to offer a better
variety of invited vendors at our annual conference and help us keep our
registration fees low.
========
For those of you who may be on vacation over the next couple of weeks,
the voting deadline has been extended to JANUARY 5, 2001. The IUG
Contact person (only) may vote online any time prior to the deadline.
Please use the same login and password as you are using for the
enhancements ballot. You will also need your IUG Member Number to vote.
In the case of multiple votes from an institution, only the first vote
cast by a member institution will count.
The proposed changes and the online ballot are available now at
